Disney's Frozen Jr.
Holland Community Theatre's production of Disney’s Frozen Jr. Sells Out Entire Run Before Opening Night
Holland, MI – July 1, 2026
Holland Community Theatre is celebrating a remarkable achievement this summer as all nine performances of Disney’s Frozen Jr. have sold out before the show’s July 1st opening night. Featuring a cast of 36 talented young performers ages 8-13, this enchanting adaptation of Disney’s beloved animated film has captured the excitement of audiences throughout the Holland area. The sold-out run is a testament not only to the enduring popularity of Frozen, but also to the dedication and hard work of the young cast and creative team behind the production.
Directed by Sandra Griffin, with Music Direction by Rachel Andrews and Assistant Direction by Caitlin Bales, the production has challenged its cast to deliver a high-level theatrical experience filled with singing, dancing, and acting. Choreographer Rylee Brightman helped bring the show’s energetic musical numbers to life, guiding the cast through every step of the production’s dynamic choreography.
“These young performers have worked incredibly hard,” said Director, Sandra Griffin. “They have approached every rehearsal with enthusiasm and a joy for the arts. Audiences are going to be amazed by the level of talent on stage. This youth program is proud to serve as a launching pad for the next generation of performers. Just as importantly, we are grateful for the enthusiastic support of local audiences that helps nurture these young artists, encouraging them to take risks, grow their talents, and discover what they are capable of achieving.”
More About Local Youth Arts Programming – The incredible turnout of 90 children at auditions this spring reflects the growing enthusiasm for youth theatre and arts programming in our community. While young performers appear throughout HCT's season, summer productions give them the opportunity to take center stage and truly shine. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication bring a unique energy to every performance, and when they step into leading roles, they consistently rise to the challenge. Many of HCT's young actors spend years growing within the organization, building skills and confidence before continuing their theatrical journeys at their schools and on stages throughout West Michigan. From school productions to opportunities with Hope Repertory Theatre and Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, we are proud to see these young artists branch out and succeed after getting their start at HCT.
More about HCT’s Disney’s Frozen Jr. – Leading the cast of Disney’s Frozen Jr. are Taryn DeJong as Elsa and Maya Garcia as Anna, whose performances bring heart, humor, and emotional depth to the beloved sisters. Joining them are Brave Blom as the lovable snowman Olaf, Caleb Maat as Prince Hans, and Sawyer Mandrick as Kristoff. Together with the entire ensemble, the cast brings the magical world of Arendelle vividly to life. Based on the hit Disney film, this musical tells the story of Queen Elsa, whose extraordinary icy powers accidentally plunge the kingdom of Arendelle into an eternal winter. With the help of friends both magical and unexpected, her fearless sister Anna embarks on an adventure to save the kingdom and discover that love is the warmest magic of all. Audiences will enjoy favorite songs from the film, including “Let It Go,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” and “For the First Time in Forever,” along with additional songs written specifically for the stage adaptation by Academy Award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
The production runs July 1-3 and July 8-11 at 7:00 p.m., with matinee performances July 5 and July 11 at 2:00 p.m. While all performances are sold out, Holland Community Theatre is proud to celebrate the accomplishment of its young performers and grateful for the overwhelming support from the community. Audiences will have another opportunity to see HCT’s talented young performers this summer when the Teen Theatre program presents Get Smart in August. Featuring actors ages 13-19, the fast-paced comedy promises plenty of laughs and tickets are still available.
