More About Get Smart –  When the bumbling secret agent Maxwell Smart, played by Nemo Ortega-Schultz, is tasked with saving the world from the evil organization KAOS, led by Mr. Big (Bronx Colby), things quickly spiral out of control. With the help of the clever and capable Agent 99 (Petra Johnson), Max must recover a stolen device, outwit enemy agents, and somehow keep his famous shoe phone working. Filled with slapstick comedy, clever spy spoofs, and delightfully groan-worthy puns, Get Smart faithfully captures the ridiculous charm that made the classic television series a fan favorite.

While audiences can expect nonstop laughs, the production is also a celebration of Holland Community Theatre's commitment to theatre education. Under the direction of longtime HCT volunteer and Teen Show Alumnus Delanie DeCan, the Teen Production program encourages young performers to develop not only their acting skills but also their confidence, teamwork, and character.

"For me, this program has always been about so much more than putting on a great show," says director Delanie Decan. "Watching these young actors grow—not only as performers but as kind, confident people—is one of the greatest joys of directing. They've worked incredibly hard this summer, and I couldn't be prouder of what we've created together."

Adding another layer of excitement is an innovative scenic design by HCT set designer Mark Bryant. Rather than relying on a traditional static set, Bryant has transformed the stage into a stunning 360-degree revolving environment. The rotating set keeps the action moving seamlessly while creating surprising visual reveals that perfectly complement the show's fast-paced comedy. What could have been a simple backdrop has instead become an artistic centerpiece, demonstrating once again Bryant's remarkable creativity and craftsmanship. Audiences will find themselves marveling at each new reveal as the set quite literally keeps the story turning.

Whether you're a longtime fan of Maxwell Smart or discovering his misadventures for the first time, Get Smart offers an evening of classic comedy brought to life by some of West Michigan's brightest young performers.
